Moisture measurements
Moisture measurements of both the materials in the silos and of the concrete
in the mixer are crucial for good and homogeneous mix.
The best method is to measure the free moisture in the aggregate bins with the materials that have the largest free moisture fluctuations (usually sand). By determining the free moisture accurately, a good and professional control system can calculate the correct amount of materials needed and automatically adjust the batched amount of water. The moisture sensor in the mixer is used to adjust for any final deviation of the free moisture.
In Haarup standard systems, microwave sensors are used.
Our moisture sensors are fitted with extra hardened steel wearing rings so the wear and tear on the sensor matches that of the wear-resistant bottom wearing plates in our Haarup mixers.
